Hello Everyone!
Here is a little video intro I have been working on for the last couple of days. Mostly I have been working on the actual flash player that contains the video. I think that I have finally found a player that I like and an efficient means of getting video onto the site which is one giant step in the history of this site! Hopefully I will be able to get the rest of the first episode finished soon for your viewing pleasure!
Enjoy!

Hello everyone,
It’s been a while since I last posted but I think I have a pretty good excuse. My wife and I were just recently blessed with a beautiful little baby girl and she has been getting a lot of my attention lately. She was born on Memorial day at 3:30pm, weighed 6 pounds 5oz and measured 18 inches long.

We are very excited about her arrival!
With that said, I should be getting back on track with the website here shortly so you should be seeing new content here soon! Meanwhile, feel free to brows around and familurize yourselves with all of CT Gurus great features!

Well, I have been busy the last couple of weeks tweaking and reorganizing the website. I added a few nice features to the site that you may find useful. The first addition is that of an email feed subscription option. This will allow you to get an email update whenever there is a new blog post here on CT Guru. You can sign up for the email feed by clicking on the Email Subscription link found in the left hand column.
Another recent site update is the addition of a page that allows you to contact us by filling out and submitting an online form. You can find the contact form by clicking on the contact link in the left hand column found under the “Pages” heading. If you have any questions, concerns or input we would love to hear from you and using this form would be an easy and convenient way for you to do so.
You may have noticed the addition of a few new links and link categories in the left hand side bar. Quick links to the ARRT and ASRT websites have been added under the “Professional Sites” heading for quick and convenient access. There are also a few new links under the “Sectional Anatomy” heading; e-anatomy.org and anatomy wiz. These are absolutely great sites for learning cross-sectional anatomy! I especially like the format at e-anatomy.org.
The last two newcomers to the site are the addition of The CT Guru Store and GoogleAds. These will help support what we are trying to do here at CT Guru which is to provide FREE Computed Tomography Registry Review & Education. So, supporting the site is easy! All you have to do is check out a few GoogleAds and go check out the CT Guru Store which is an Amazon affiliate store. You can use this store to purchase anything that you would normally get off of amazon.com and I will be adding lots of new items that you may find usefull in your carrier as a CT Tech!
Be looking for more Registry Review Questions in the near future. I am working on Question Set 3 and should have it online soon!
Until next time…
Happy Scanning!

Well, I’ve been working out the bugs with the CT Registry Review page and it is finally up and running! I placed the first set of questions under the category “System Operation & Components”. I will be creating testing modules in batches containing 25 questions each. I have already created most of the questions and have them saved as word documents so it is just a matter of copying and pasting them into the testing template and then posting them for your viewing pleasure.
You can check out the first batch of Registry Review Questions by clicking on the link below:
System Operation & Components: Set 1
You can also access the questions by clicking on the “CT Registry Review” link under the “Pages” category located in the column to the left.Enjoy,

What’s up y’all?
I am taking an online class this semester at Boise State University called “Integrating Technology into the Classroom”. My hope was that I would learn a few tricks about online education and then integrate them into this site. The last assignment I completed involved generating an online quiz so I created a quiz on things related to Computed Tomography! And, since I don’t have anything else to do with it now, I decided to post it for your viewing and entertainment pleasure! So here it is:
Computed Tomography Assessment
If you like the format or think that activities like this may be helpful let me know. And if you think it sucks… well… you can let me know about that too.

Hey there everyone!
Well, it has been a crazy year so far for me! My wife is from Montana and has been wanting to move back there for some time now to be closer to her family. So, after three years of looking I finally found a job opening at the local hospital in their CT department! There are twelve radiologists in our radiologist group and the hospital here serves a large geographic area. I am working the night shift for now so the majority of my patients will be ER and ICU patients. I will also be learning on a scanner that is new to me; a GE 64 slice scanner. Most of my experience so far in the realm of CT has been with Toshiba scanners. So I am excited to be learning to run a scanner I haven’t operated before and see how it compares to the Toshiba 64 I’m used to.
Well, I have some really great ideas for new content and hopefully you will start seeing some of it soon!

Hello everyone!
I just wanted to fill you in on the link in the right hand column titled “Calvin’s CT Registry Review”. This site is a work in progress that I started a while ago and then got side tracked and haven’t gotten back to yet. Not all of the links will have any content behind them; actually all but two do not. But I still thought that there might be some useful study type question there that you might find useful so I put it online anyhow. I am hoping to be able to start working on that site as well as this one more this summer when I have finished up a few other projects I have going rite now. Your patience is greatly appreciated!

Hey there everybody! My name is Calvin Sphuler and yes… this is CTguru.org! This is just the beginning of a sweet little blog devoted to all you guys and gals who just want to learn the important principals of Computed Tomography (CT). In the near future I will be steadily adding content that will guide the novice CT Tech into becoming… yes… wait for it… A CTguru!
Now, I don’t claim to know everything about CT but I can tell you that I am a very industrious young man with many “connections”. If I don’t know, I should be able to find out. In addition to my friends in high places, I have two degrees in Radiologic Science. An Associates degree from Lewis-Clark State College and a Bachelors with an emphasis in Computed Tomography from Boise State University.
So, as this site evolves make sure to check back often and if you have any questions or concerns don’t hesitate to drop me a line at calvinsphuler@excite.com. Make sure to put “CTguru” in the subject line!
